FAQs
-Why is there a ticket service fee?
Eventbrite charges a service fee for each ticket purchased. This is what allows us to use their online ticketing and check-in system. Eventbrite automatically sets the fees based on the ticket price.
-Did you raise your ticket prices this year?
No. Our last increase was in 2022. However, due to the increased costs associated with creating a live show (venue rental, tech crew, etc.) we have decided to keep the ticket price at the same cost that they were last year.
-Is there a minimum age to attend The Nutcracker?
This is a family friendly ballet and we encourage people of all ages to join us. We do ask that all of those attending be comfortable in a live theater environment.
-What are my parking options at the event?
Parking is available in the parking lot at Sherwood Hall and is free of charge. DO NOT park in the Salinas Rodeo Grounds parking.
-What is not allowed?
Photography and video recording of the performance is prohibited! Those violating this rule may be asked to leave the performance without a refund. There will be an opportunity to purchase a DVD of the performance.
Outside food and beverages are prohibited. While snacks and beverages will be sold at intermission in the lobby, they are not allowed in the theater.
-Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. You may also have your ticket available for scanning on your mobile phone. Should you forget your ticket a photo ID may be needed to confirm your purchase with the box office staff.
-Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes. Some people may prefer to use one name for multiple ticket purchases or when giving a ticket as a gift. Each ticket purchased has a unique barcode allowing this. Once a barcode has been scanned that code becomes invalid in the ticketing system. If you are purchasing multiple tickets please make sure to print each individual ticket provided in the confirmation email.
-Can I buy tickets anywhere else?
Yes. Tickets may also be purchased in person at Jeanne Robinson Dance Arts (380 Monterey St., Salinas, CA). Should any tickets still be available the day of the performance they will be sold at the theater box office one hour prior to showtime. We do recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
-My child is performing in The Nutcracker. Should I bring them in the front door with me?
No. You will be given a call time with when and where to drop your child off prior to the show date. If you are still unsure, please come to the stage door entrance with your child and our volunteers will be able to assist.
-Since my child is in the show am I able to enter through the stage door entrance with them?
No. The only persons admitted through this door are performers, theater staff and scheduled volunteers. All audience members MUST enter through the main entrance.
-Can I come backstage to pick up my child after the performance?
NO. The only people allowed backstage are performers, studio teachers, tech crew and scheduled volunteers. You must head to the glass doors in the lobby to meet our volunteer team who will then go through our check out procedure with you. If you must pick up your child prior to the end of the performance, please arrange this with out volunteers when you drop your child off with them.
-Why am I unable to buy my ticket online right before the performance?
Online ticket sales end 2 hours before each performance time. Tickets can be purchased at the box office one hour prior to curtain.
-I purchased tickets through Eventbrite and am now unable to attend. Can I get a refund at the dance studio?
No. Refunds for tickets purchased through Eventbrite must be done through the Eventbrite website. Eventbrite refunds may be submitted up to one (1) day prior to the performance. After that day tickets are unable to be refunded. Please note that only the cost of the ticket is able to be refunded, not the Eventbrite service fees. This is set forth by Eventbrite and Jeanne Robinson Dance Arts is unable to change this policy.
-What is Sherwood Hall's Covid-19 mask policy?
There is currently no mask mandate for the City of Salinas.
